Club Activities

December - Purchased 7 pairs of new eyeglasses for local needy citizens and collected 166 pairs of used eyeglasses  for recycling. During the holiday season,  Lions worked 41 hours helping the Salvation Army (Ring the Bell).

January - Purchased 7 pairs of new eyeglasses and collected 83 pairs of used eyeglasses. Conducted a vision screening at Kidz Zone( 14 children Screened). Donated approximately 3,000 pairs of new eyeglass frames to the Kentucky Vision Project. Sponsored 27 January Magic Show.

News Updates

Monticello Lions Club added four new members during the Month of January.  Frank and Linda Dishman joined on the 4th and Doug and Karen Stephenson joined on the 18th....Welcome!!  The club would like to thank everyone for supporting the recent Lions sponsored Magic Show. Campaign Sight First II

                                                                  

Since 1990 Lions Campaign Sight First  has funded more than 7,000,000 cataract surgeries, restored sight to 27,000,000 and improved the eye care for 100,000,000 people. Lions have also built or expanded 207 eye hospitals, and  314  eye  centers  have  received  equipment  upgrades.  Each  year,  Lions  also  collect approximately 7,000,000 pairs of used eyeglasses for recycling, provide 600,000 free glaucoma screenings and make 20,000 corneal transplants possible.
